I believe everyone have a nightstand of books waiting to be read. I have been having a hard time keeping my stack of to-read books/magazines short, since my junior year started. That's also why I love traveling by plane, I get to browse around the bookstand before boarding, pick up a book or two for the trip or catch up on my overdue magazines.
Recently, I discovered this amazing program call "Read & Return" by The Paradise Shop. You can buy a book in San Francisco, enjoy it and return it in NYC within six months for 50% refund. There are over 100 of airport bookstands that participate in the program; it is an excellent program for us who travel a lot and want some "old-fashion" entertainment for the flight. Simply look for the books that has one of these "bookmark" leaflet, inside the bookmark there is the list of the airports have bookstores that participate in the program.
When I was leaving for Germany, I picked up way too many books for the flights.
- Everything Is Perfect When You're a Liar by Kelly Oxford
- The Happiness Project
- Lost & Found by Jacqueline Sheehan (look at that cover, can you say no to those puppy eyes?)
- Skinny Bitch In Love by Kim
Isn't this a great program? Now, in order to get my books refunded, I will need to plan another trip within six months! What a great excuse to travel!!
